NUTRITION AND DIETETICS

Accredited Practising Dietitians are university qualified experts in nutrition and dietetics. They understand how your body works and how your food and drink intake helps nourish both healthy individuals or those with a medical condition.

What does a Dietitian do?

  • Assess your current nutrition and your nutritional needs
  • Assess your medical condition and personal circumstances
  • Provide nutrition counselling
  • Provide information and educate on healthy eating, preparing food, food shopping and eating out
  • Develop a personalised eating plan
  • Give you the knowledge and skills to make the best food choices and take care of your health

What to expect?

  • At the initial consultation the Dietitian will take a detailed history about your current diet, exercise habits, your general health and lifestyle. This allows the dietitian to prescribe and advise on an eating plan that is tailored to your needs.
  • At the consult your basic body measurements and weight may be checked so that we have a baseline to work with and a starting point from which to make goals.
  • If you have a medical condition, your blood and other test results may be reviewed to put together a suitable eating plan.
  • Subsequent appointments allow the Dietitian to monitor your progress, provide support and fine tune your eating plan if required. Provide you with extra information and advice.
  • Research shows that regular sessions with a qualified dietitian help people really achieve their goals, compared with trying to do it alone.

Pricing:

Initial Consult (1 hour):  $115 (Health fund item number: 500)

Follow Up (30 minutes): $75 (Health fund item number 600)

You may be entitled to a health fund rebate, please check with your fund for details.

If you have a chronic medical condition, you may be entitled to a Medicare enhanced primary care plan. You should check with your Doctor for eligibility. Your Doctor will need to provide the appropriate Medicare paperwork and referral.

Pensioners with an EPC plan will be bulk billed (30 minute booking).

About Us

Chatswood Allied Health opened in August 2016. We are a modern clinic that provides high quality allied health care. We currently specialise in Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology, Dietetics/ Nutrition, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture/Cupping Therapy and Exercise Physiology.

Vincent Cagliostro the Clinic Manager has been providing Physiotherapy services to the Chatswood area for over 14 years.  The clinic has developed close working relationships with local GP’s, Specialists, businesses, sporting clubs and
the local community.

Chatswood Allied Health accepts all health funds, we have a HICAPs facility for immediate rebates. Bulk billing is available for those with an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) referral for Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology and Podiatry. Workcover, Compulsory Third Party (CTP) and Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) referrals are accepted.

You do not require a referral to attend our clinic but if you are claiming a medicare rebate or claiming under work cover or CTP you will need the appropriate  referral from your GP.

We also stock a large range of supports and braces including camwalker boots.
